Fostering a networking solution for upskilled seniors and unemployed low-skilled adults in rural areas towards a digitalised Europe could be a very spot on summary for DIGINEXT project’s core purpose. 

Aims like the promotion of senior entrepreneurship; assistive technologies to maintain autonomy when ageing or the intergenerational solidarity could encompass the will of DIGINEXT. With the aim to pursue Work Package 2 activities, namely T2.1 DIGINEXT Local Virtual Actions Groups and T2.2 Professional Profile Development, several subtasks were carried out by the consortium. In this sense, some questionnaires, guidelines report and focus groups were created. The questionnaires targeted the Local Action Groups (LAGs) officers, unemployed and low-skilled adults, and rural seniors.  

Following the project’s timeline for results, the partners are now entering Work Package 3, which consists of the training course for the project’s vision of the e-Rural specialist’s figure. The course will consist of three main digital skills topics: data literacy, access to services and digital safety. This course builds on the groundwork laid in the results achieved thanks to the partners’ contribution under the Work Package 2 umbrella. It treated the creation of a specific trainer profile who embodies the above-mentioned mention values: someone enabling low-skilled adults and seniors in rural areas in digital skills. It will cover the gap between the need’s awareness and the actual active engagement to face it. The course will lead to alleviating this difference. 

With these latest advancements, DIGINEXT is steadily advancing is coming up with the expected production and results, settling the formal structure for gaining its final main objectives and solidifying the framework needed to attain its overarching goals.
